Based on our experience, EDI offers a mutual benefit to suppliers and to Continental Teves. By using EDI instead of a manual process, suppliers have the opportunity to reduce process cycle time and minimize waste from their system. By fully utilizing EDI, a company may reduce premium freight cost by 20% and increase inventory turns by 10%. Currently, order information is transmitted in a variety of methods, including: EDI, fax, and mail. Since August 2002, Teves has worked with our Value Added Network, GE Global eXchange Services (GXS), to set up all of our suppliers on EDI by the end of 2002. After the completion of this project, all order information will be transmitted electronically via GXS. Go to www.gegxs.net to register for this program now! Download the August 9, 2002 Teves letter to get details on this initiative.
