In 2004, Continental purchased materials and services totaling approximately $660 million to support North American operations. Production material purchases accounted for nearly $550 million of the total. Eighty percent (80%) of our production material purchases are concentrated among the following commodities:

• Castings and Machined Castings
• Electronics and Electromechanical
• Friction Material
• Stampings
• Turned Parts
• Various Assemblies
• Rubber and Plastic

Non-Production purchases of goods and services comprise about $110 million of the above total. The focus is primarily on services, operating supplies, and capital equipment.
