A danger control modul detects traffic hazards and determines the probability of an accident for the current traffic situation and, if necessary, initiates a staged hazard response to protect the occupants and other road users.

The future with APIA

Image processing will make it possible to classify road users for the first time. In combination with radar/lidar, this will increa-se the reliablity of analyzing the traffic situation. Combined steering and braking interventions will support the driver in avoiding accidents.

APIA 2005: A demonstration vehicle with a functioning APIA system of newly developed or optimized Continental technologies is already being tested today.
