With the Electro Mechanical Brake we are getting involved in pure brake-by-wire technology, which eliminates brake fluids and hydraulic lines entirely. The braking force is generated directly at each wheel by high performance electric motors, they are controlled by an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and actuated by signals from an electronic pedal module. The Electro Mechanical Brake includes all brake and stability functions. It is virtually noiseless, even in ABS mode.
