Christoph Andres Seeger “Continental offers me excellent opportunities for continued personal development and assuming responsibility” How long have you been employed at Continental? Since April, 2005 How did you enter the company? In 2002, I completed a 6-month internship at ContiTech in Mexico. The contact did not end with that. At the end of 2004, I wrote my thesis in the company and after I finished, I started directly at ContiTech in “Supply Chain Management”. I have been working as an assistant to the Executive Board since February, 2008. What is a typical work day like for you? My job is multi-faceted. In the day-to-day business, I attend to the preparations for meetings and presentations and write minutes from meetings. You learn very quickly to think and act in a structured way. But mainly I am involved in Executive Board projects and attending to the progress of my own projects. The reason is: It's important for me to transform my ideas into action through my own projects. Why should degree holders decide in favor of Continental? There are a lot of reasons! At Continental, everyone is the manager of his own talents. You are given latitude to be creative and to work independently. Thanks to the size and the international nature of the corporation, you can work in different fields and countries. Which talents and qualities are crucial to a successful career at Continental? The ability to work independently is of central importance. Qualities such as ambition and team spirit are also fundamental. Since Continental operates internationally, you should have an extremely good knowledge of English and have cross-cultural experience. What does teamwork mean to you? For me, teamwork means using the different talents in a team in such a way that you achieve the best result for the company. Of course, the international environment and the structure at Continental makes teamwork particularly important. How do you strike a balance between work, free time and family? It's perfectly possible to find a balance through good organization. My significant other is in a similar situation in her profession. So both of us can easily understand the time constraints imposed on the other. That is definitely a big advantage. How do you spend your free time? For the most part, I spend my free time with my girlfriend, we travel a lot in our free time as well. Otherwise, I try to participate in sports regularly (sailing, tennis). The remainder of the time I devote to my friends and the family. That's not always quite so easy since my circle of friends is widely scattered. How do you envision your professional future? Continental still offers a lot of additional challenges, such as further internationalization, so that I am sure that my path will continue to be as exciting and challenging as in the last few years.
