FAWSL and Continental

FAWSL Partnership

Continental is a lead partner for the Women's Super League (WSL). WSL is The FA's new elite club competition which was launched at Wembley on April 11th 2011.

WSL consists of 8 national club teams competing in a summer league with home
and away fixtures between April and September. At the end of the season The
Continental Cup takes place which is a knock out Cup based on seeding drawn
from final league positions. The League and the Cup will be televised in the UK
either live or in highlights by ESPN. Participating in the WSL are Arsenal,
Birmingham, Bristol, Chelsea, Doncaster, Everton, Lincoln and Liverpool.

As one of an exclusive 'family' of 4 commercial partners to the WSL, Continental
will receive a range of marketing rights across both the League and Cup
competitions as well as supporting WSL's role in developing the women's game in
the community.

With England's International Women's teams doing so well on the world stage and
participation levels here at such a high, it's vital for The FA to have a competitive,
well structured and, critically, commercially sustainable league at the top of
the women's game. Through the support of Continental and other partners,
The FA  is able to provide the infrastructure they need through WSL to ensure our
most talented players can pursue their dream here in England.

With participation levels of women's football at an all time high - currently 1.1 million
girls play football in England - the Super League will play a pivotal role in ensuring
the player pathway leads to a competitive, elite structure at the very top of the
women's game.
