Parallel to the quarter finals, semifinals and final match, Continental AG is offering 1,700 guests a very interesting 4-hour driving event in which the latest products and selected technologies of the future can be experienced from the Passenger and Light Truck Tires, Chassis & Safety, and Interior divisions. Of course, the accompanying program also includes a visit to a match in Vienna or Basle. For these events, Continental has exclusively leased the driving safety centers of the Austrian Motoring and Touring Club (ÖAMTC) in Teesdorf near Vienna and of the Swiss Touring Club (TCS) in Betzholz near Zurich from June 19 until the day after the final match. |

Continental press spokesman Alexander Lührs comments on the ContiSafetyExperience, the name given to the driving program: “In recent years, Continental AG has continuously and dynamically worked to progress. In addition to the growing expertise in the tire sector, the corporation, as one of the world’s leading international automotive suppliers, has a unique product range. It also comprises extensive know-how in the fields of brake technology, driver assistance systems, electronics, sensor systems, telematics, information management and hybrid technology.” All of these keywords are “experienced” – literally – during the driving training. Following a brief presentation of the corporation, there are numerous interesting tests, driving tests and professional analyses at many stations, accompanied professionally by instructors and experts of the ContiSafetyExperience. Lührs: “When selecting the technologies, we intentionally focused on products that improve traffic safety. That was our guiding principle. We also have a lot of products in our range that make a major contribution to climate protection, but as a signee of the European Charter for Traffic Safety, we have pledged to help cut the number of traffic fatalities in half to 25,000 by 2010. And that fits in with UEFA EURO 2008 perfectly.” |

Now we are introducing selected product highlights, since after the numerous acquisitions in all areas of the corporation, we are pleased to demonstrate just how extensive our position is at the global level as one of the leading automotive suppliers.” And how very true: After all, sales of €26.4 billion are targeted this year. And The corporation currently employs approximately 150,000 at nearly 200 locations in 36 countries.
