Puchov, May 12, 2010. Under the motto “Kick it with Conti” Continental as an Official Sponsor of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ gave students in Slovakia the opportunity to win one ContiPremiumTicket with full cost coverage  at one of the matches in South Africa and an attractive framework program to discover the African culture, nature and lifestyle. Students could enter the drawing from February through March 31, at various recruiting events in the cities of Bratislava, Trenčín, Zvolen and Žilina.

Over 100 students from four universities participated. The lucky winner, Ján Repka, from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Žilina was handed officially the FIFA ticket today by Ladislav Rosina, the General Manager of the Continental Truck Tire plant in Puchov and Igor Krištofík the Human Resources Manager, during the “Continental Open Day” in Puchov.

We congratulate the winner and wish him a great time with Continental at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa”, added Igor Krištofík.

Continental’s Corporate Employer Branding and Recruiting held drawings in Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania for 16 tickets to 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ matches.  The “Kick it with Conti” drawing was promoted at four Slovakian partner universities: the University of Žilina, the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín, the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava, and the Technical University in Zvolen. The questions of the quiz were related to the operations of the international automotive supplier and the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.  From February through March 31, around 100 people participated at the online quiz on: www.slovakia.careers-continental.com  and 56 had all the correct answers.

Continental in Puchov has several collaborations and partnerships with the local universities, offering students various opportunities get to know the automotive business. During the academic year 2009 – 2010 Continental in Puchov has cooperated for 23 bachelor and diploma thesis. Also around 20 students will be offered the possibility to make an internship in the company in 2010. Four talented university graduates with technical background are able to join every year the “Tire Manufacturing Talent Initiative”. Yearly, Continental in Slovakia participates at around ten major Student Job Fairs in Slovakia and organizes for around 30 selected students the “Continental Open Day” in Puchov.
