Does the EU Truck Tyre label affect all customer segments equally? As the EU Label focuses on rolling resistance, noise and wet grip, it affects the single customer segments differently. The strongest influence is on the economical outcome for Motorway tyres as this product line is highly optimised for fuel savings.
There is a strong influence on the customer benefit for Allround tyres as the respective tyre lines are designed for reduced fuel savings at high mileage.
There is a minor influence on the economical impact for Construction tyres as tyres for this segment are predominantly supposed to provide casing durability and traction. Is the EU Truck Tyre label comparable amongst the different axle positions? Basically the technical parameters defining the single label classes apply to all axle positions in the same manner. However, as Steer, Drive and Trailer axles require different tyre performance priorities this leads to a reasonable performance shift in the labelled criteria.
The predominant rib design of Steer and Trailer tyres favors a superior label class for these products in comparison to the predominant block/semi-block design of Drive axle tyres. The reason for this lies in the easier and quieter running of rib tyres. Are the EU Truck Tyre labels for different tyre sizes comparable? Basically the technical parameters defining the single label classes apply to all tyre/rim sizes in the same manner.
However, as smaller tyre/rim sizes combined with light trucks are specifically higher utilised to their loading capacity, this leads to a reasonable shift in the indicated label class.
