Continental along with 4x4 vehicle manufacturers recognises that a large majority of 4x4's are used mainly on urban roads, rarely venturing off the tarmac.  This is why they have developed a range of tyres that are designed predominantly for on-road use.

The Conti4x4Contact is the Auto Express 4x4 Tyre Test Winner[1].  When put to the test by Auto Express, the Conti4x4Contact stopped an amazing 22 feet shorter than the competition, coming first in no less than 6 categories including wet braking, wet cornering, wet handling, dry handling, noise levels and fuel economy.  The Conti4x4Contact has OE approval on the Volvo XC90, the Mercedes-Benz M-Class and the Land Rover Freelander.

The Conti4x4SportContact is designed for high performance 4x4 vehicles and is approved on the Porsche Cayenne and VW Toureg. It is specifically designed for on-road use and therefore has high cornering stability, precise steering response, exceptional directional stability and protection against aquaplaning.

The CrossContact UHP is the latest addition to the Continental 4x4 stable and is designed for performance Sports utility Vehicles (SUV's). Key benefit's of this tyre include shorter braking distances, precise steering response and excellent directional stability on road surfaces.  Incorporating the latest in high performance SUV tyre technology including an asymmetrical tread pattern, 'Cat's Paw' contour technology and a bi-net silica compound, the CrossContact UHP takes the 4x4 performance tyre to the next level.

The CrossContact LX is designed for light off-road use with an  80% on-road and 20% off-road application.  It provides excellent traction for good driving and braking performance and is a very smooth and quiet ride.  In addition, the CrossContact LX has a high water displacement capacity which provides excellent protection against aquaplaning providing additional safety in wet weather conditions. 

The ContiTrac SUV tyre is designed  for medium to heavy 4x4 vehicles with 60% on-road and 40% off-road application.  It provides excellent traction, has good overall driving braking performance with optimum wet road performance
