A new drive-axle tyre developed for regional distribution has been launched by Continental. Named HDR+, the tyre's extra-wide tread area, deep tread pattern and closed shoulder ensure very high mileage performance. This is complemented by an optimised tread compound with a blend of natural and synthetic rubbers designed to increase abrasion resistance, promoting even wear during the entire life of the tyre.

In addition, the casing of the HDR+ has been designed to be particularly robust with reinforced steel belt plies containing a larger-than-usual number of fine yet strong cords. Each cord is individually coated with a special grade of rubber, allowing the tyre more flexibility to absorb extreme spot loads. Also, the tread compound resists the spreading of minor tears.

With the stronger compound and more robust construction, the casing is well protected for regrooving and remoulding to provide maximum economy to the operator.

The Continental HDR+ drive-axle tyre is available in sizes 295/80 R 22.5, 315/80 R 22.5, 315/70 R 22.5, 295/60 R 22.5, 305/60 R 22.5 and 315/60 R 22.5.
