Continental launches Whole Life Cost programme
Fork lift fleet operators and industrial tyre dealers joined Continental Tyres at an important occasion in Crewe this month. The event covered the whole life costs of industrial tyres, a crucial subject to any company running fork lifts in the industry. 60 guests visited Crewe Hall in Cheshire to learn more about Continental’s whole life cost programme. The event covered tyre cost factors such as purchase price and service life as well as non tyre cost factors such as fuel consumption and vehicle downtime and how they fit into the whole life cost picture. Continental’s tyre experts also stressed the importance of choosing the right tyre for the right application to get the maximum whole life cost return. Visitors to the event were able to experience firsthand the new whole life cost tool. The unique interactive programme uses customer-specific information to work out the cost-saving potential of Continental tyres versus competitor products. The calculator takes into account the pence per hour and fuel consumption of every fork lift or industrial vehicle in the fleet to give an overall result. Carolin Koehn, product manager for Continental Industrial Tyres UK and Ireland, said; “Getting the most out of your tyres involves considering a multitude of factors, not just the up front cost of a tyre. Our whole life cost tool will be invaluable to both our sales managers and our customers as it shows the difference the whole life cost approach can make to your business. It is a powerful tool as it shows the real savings you can make to your fleet, not just an average value.” The event was also a great occasion to show hands on how the innovative CSEasy tyre works, with customers able to test their skills in removing and remounting the CSEasy using its simple adapter and a torque wrench. Continental created a new booklet for the event which thoroughly explains the whole life cost programme.
