Talking about his move, Leon said; “Continental Industrial tyres really lead the way in the Industry with innovative products such as the CSEasy, Continental’s solid tyre that can be fitted without the need for a mounting press. 2009 is going to be a tough year with the economic situation still uncertain but Continental is well placed to take on the challenges with great products offering high levels of safety and whole life cost benefits.” Leon and the Industrial sales team will be taking a new budget brand to the market this year. The Barum INDUSTRY range will strengthen Continental’s offering to companies running forklift trucks in less demanding applications who require a good quality tyre at an attractive price. Barry Guildford, who previously held the position, has moved to general sales manager for replacement truck tyres. Leon will report into Arthur Gregg, sales & marketing director for Commercial tyres. Arthur Gregg commented; “2008 was a strong year for Continental Tyre Group and despite the difficulties facing both the economy and the industry in 2009, we have a strong business package for our customers. Under Leon’s guidance, the Industrial sales team will continue to provide first rate customer service with the knowledge and experience to advise fleets on the best solution for their tyre needs.” |
