Continental Corporate

Our business activities focus on innovations for enhancing safety, developing eco-friendly mobility and maximizing comfort and convenience on the road. In addition to serving the automotive sector, the Hanover-based Company's employees also manufacture products for machine construction and mining, as well as for the furniture and printing industries.

The corporation is organized into six divisional areas: Chassis & Safety, Powertrain, Interior, Passenger and Light Truck Tyres, Commercial Vehicle Tyres, and ContiTech.

The Passenger and Light Truck Tyres division develops and manufactures passenger and light truck tyres for compact, medium-size, and full-size cars as well as tyres for vans, light trucks, and RVs. We have a decisive advantage over pure-play tyre manufacturers, because we involve the expertise of our automotive divisions in our development work.

This division produces tyres under the brand names of Continental, Uniroyal (except in the NAFTA region, Columbia, and Peru), Semperit, Barum, General Tire, Euzkadi, Viking, Gislaved, Mabor, Matador, and Sime Tyres.

It also includes our two-wheel (motorcycle and bicycle) business and our retail tyre companies with more than 2,000 specialty tyre outlets and franchises in 18 countries.

Continental is the number one tyre manufacturer in Europe in the passenger and light truck tyre market and number four worldwide. Continental is the market leader in winter tyres and automobile original equipment. In 2007, 107.4 million tyres were produced across 22 locations in 14 countries.

The division is divided into five business units:

  • Original Equipment

  • Replacement Business Europe

  • Replacement Business The Americas

  • Replacement Business Asia

  • Two Wheel Tyres
