The ContiComfortKit can patch up a puncture in minutes

There’s never a good time to get a puncture. It’s a dirty, potentially dangerous, waste of time. No wonder the emergency breakdown services reckon that tyres account for the majority of call outs. However, Continental Tyres has come up with a solution - the ContiComfortKit which can fix a flat tyre in minutes without the need to change the wheel.  The small, portable device is simple to use. One end plugs into the car’s cigarette lighter or 12 volt outlet and the other goes onto the flat tyre’s valve. It then pumps a mixture of liquid sealant and air into the tyre to effectively seal the puncture from the inside and re-inflates the tyre. From start to finish, the job takes just 7 minutes and the motorist can then get on his or her way, driving up to 125 miles at a maximum speed of 50mph. Giving the driver the opportunity to make their own way to have the tyre repaired or replaced at the outlet of their choice.

Tracey Hyem, brand manager at leading tyre company, Continental says, “Whilst the likelihood of getting a puncture is quite low, when it does happen it can be a real nuisance. Not only that, but the kit can be used indefinitely as an air compressor to inflate tyres as well as accurately checking their pressures meaning you can do it at home or at work or anywhere you want.”

The kit retails for around £59.99 and is available to buy from tyre retailer stockists from December onwards.  Once the ContiComfortKit has been used to seal a tyre, replacement sealant and tubing can be bought for just £14.99  The ContiComfortKit is a temporary solution and will not permanently fix the puncture.  The tyre should be taken to a tyre specialist for repair or replacement.
