Continental Sime Tyre (CST) received its third consecutive Outstanding Quality Performance Award from Toyota’s Assembly Services Sdn. Bhd. (ASSB) on 26th March 2009. The award for year 2008 was presented at the 14th Toyota Suppliers’ Conference held at the Grand Bluewave Hotel in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The award was presented based on the tyres made for two Toyota car models, the Innova and Hilux Single Cab, supplied by CST’s Alor Star plant. Criteria for selection were based on the following: 1) Incoming quality defect – ‘0’ ppm 2) ‘0’ warranty claims 3) 12 months delivery performance 4) Local manufacturer Mr. Thomas Falke, Director of OE – ASEAN & China, Continental Sime Tyre PJ Sdn. Bhd. received the award on behalf of CST from Mr. Hideki Omae, Plant Director of Toyota ASSB. "We are proud to be awarded for our outstanding quality performance by Toyota for the third consecutive year. It shows that our continuous commitment to quality is reaching our customers. It also sends a clear signal to our customer base that we continue to strive to exceed world-class quality expectations in this region," comments Mr. Falke.
