June 2009 marks another milestone for Continental Sime Tyre. Despite a very challenging requirement target from Nissan, Continental is able to meet most of the requirements set by Nissan Japan in record time. Two of Nissan Malaysia’s latest model in Nissan Latio and Grand Livina, are now fitted with the original 185/65R15 88H ContiConfortContact-1. The success of CC-1 being accepted by Nissan Malaysia demonstrates again why Continental tyre is the number 1 tyre supplier in Europe. Malaysia is the second country in ASEAN to launch these two car models. Due to advantages of assembling the models locally, Edaran Tan Chong Motor required extra time for the CKD program such as setting up of assembly equipment, localization of certain parts and other procedures. Both models are currently assembled at the new plant in Serendah, outside Rawang in Selangor. Continental is proud to be the only tyre approved for both Grand Livina and Latio in Malaysia.
