Fan Modules

DC cooling fan and EC fan module

Our fan technology is used in engine cooling plants and in the heating and air conditioning systems of modern vehicles. Electric cooling fans which can be controlled as required and are integrated in the engine management system are a good way of providing the cooling capacity actually required for a combustion engine. Increasingly, they are also taking over the function of the viscofan and the additional air conditioning fan driven by the combustion engine. Our modules are distinguished by their compact design and are manufactured in many customer-specific variants.

Depending on customers' requirements, fan modules can be assembled on-site, balanced, tested or supplied just-in-time.

  • DC cooling fans can be realized with single or double fans in a range of power from 400W to 1.200W
  • Speed control of the DC drives via PWM activation (Pulse-Width-Modulated) or electronically (e.g. with a chopper)
  • Brushless (EC) cooling fan with combined power electronics and speed control at a performance range of approx. 60 W to 800 W, rotational speeds between 1,400 and about 4,300 U/min.

The series production of the 4th generation of the above G4 fan module has been in operation since the end of 2003, offering numerous improvements:

  • New 4-phase DC motor with multi speed control
  • New flyer winding technology
  • Ventilation performance and acoustic optimization
  • Optimum connection of engine, electronics and rotor by the specially developed engine carrier with busbar

Heating/ ventilation/ air-conditioning blowers (HVAC blowers)

Blowers for heating/air-conditioning blow a defined volume of air into the interior of an automobile. High efficiency and low noise levels have priority. We have the know-how to design ideal blower modules in close and direct contact with the system suppliers.
