Englebert tires' excellent track record in racing and rally driving
A long history of racing success
06.03.2009
Hanover/Geneva, March 2009. At an early stage, Englebert identified the motor sport as an effective marketing tool. Racing success led to a rapid increase in popularity. Englebert owed its outstanding international success among others to the vision of Enzo Ferrari. Ferrari's Scuderia, founded in 1932, consistently opted for the Belgian brand.

In addition to its success in car racing, Englebert also achieved a great deal in motorcycle racing. It supplied tires for the FN and Saroléa racing teams. Also, in 1934, René Milhoux entered the history books setting the 500 cc solo speed record riding an FN bike with Englebert tires (224 km/h).

Uniroyal Funcup
Between 2003 and 2008, Uniroyal once again became linked with racing success with the European Funcup series. Here sports cars modelled on the VW Beatle and fitted with rain tires from the RainSport range were pitted against each other. This proves that in racing, tires and chassis provide enjoyment both on the track and for spectators.
Back in 1895, the Belgian rubber goods manufacturer Englebert started producing tyres for Continental AG and other companies. After merging with US Rubber in 1958, the company changed its name to Uniroyal Englebert. Uniroyal, the inventor of the rain tyre, has been a European brand within the portfolio of Continental AG in Hanover, Germany, since 1979.
