Fitting
Fitting tyres – a job for the experts?

During fitting, a new tyre is mounted onto the rim. Motorists should not attempt to fit the tyres themselves. Any mistakes made during fitting (caused using screwdrivers or other unsuitable "tools") can lead to damage in the tyre bead section or even breaks in the tyre core.

The worst thing about this damage is that there may be no external signs to indicate that anything is wrong. However, the consequences can be severe. They greatly reduce vehicle safety. In the worst case scenario, tyres can burst, resulting in total tyre failure.

Tyres also need to be balanced correctly when they are fitted. This ensures that weight is distributed evenly and that the wheel runs correctly. An unbalanced tyre leads to vibrations, particularly at speeds between 50 and 75 mph (80 und 120 km/h).

This also causes uneven wear on the surface of the tyre and unnecessarily shortens its service life.
