What to bear in mind when cleaning tyres

Tyres also need cleaning from time to time and this is particularly important when changing between summer and winter tyres and putting them into storage.

When cleaning your tyres, do not use cleaning agents containing solvents or oil as these will damage the rubber. Use clean water with soap or washing-up liquid.

If you are using a pressure washer to clean the tyres, bear the following in mind:

•  Never use a circular nozzle to clean tyres.

•  If you are using a fan nozzle or a dirt cutter for cleaning, keep this at least 20cm from the tyre.
