Storage
How to store tyres correctly

Following these guidelines for storing tyres properly will also increase their service life.Thoroughly clean the tyres and remove chippings etc. from the treads. Before changing the tyres, first use a piece of chalk to mark the direction of travel and the position where the tyre was mounted (e.g. FL - front left, RR - rear right). Store the tyres in a cool, dry, dark room that is free of oil, petrol, grease or other

Correct storage

Tyres on rims

should never be stored standing up, they should be hung up or laid flat (ideally on a wooden pallet).

However,

tyres without rims should be stored upright and turned slightly every four weeks to avoid pressure points building up. They should not be hung up or stacked.

If you do not have a suitable location for storing your tyres, a number of specialist tyre dealers offer a storage service for a comparatively small fee.

This guarantees that your tyres will be stored correctly.

Before refitting the stored tyres, check them again for damage and wear, and also assess the remaining tread depth and any potential imbalance. This prevents uneven wear.
