Keep the pressure on your tyres... Most tyre damage is caused by incorrect tyre pressure! In normal use, check the tyre pressure at regular intervals every two weeks. And remember to check the spare wheel too. The tyre pressure specified by the vehicle manufacturer is given in the car manual and also on the tank lid or on the door pillar. Incorrect tyre pressure increases wear and has a negative effect on driving performance. Please note the following when checking and adjusting the tyre pressure: - Measure tyre pressure on the cold tyre.
- Do not adjust the tyre pressure if the tyre is still warm. (It is quite normal for the tyre pressure to go up when the vehicle is travelling.)
- The tyre pressure has to be the same per axle, although there can be a difference between the front and rear axle.
- The valve caps must be screwed on tightly, because they protect the valve from dust and dirt, thereby preventing leakage. Replace any missing valve caps immediately.
