Semperit summer tyres - alpine proven!

(Hanover, spring 2005) Semperit tyres have been designed to meet the challenges of Alpine roads - in mountainous regions serpentines, steep inclines and descents, plus changing weather conditions, all place great demands on grip when braking or setting off. Optimum lateral guidance and good characteristics on wet roads are also important aspects. In addition, motorists want to have tyres which provide either a comfortable or a sporty ride, depending on the type of car they drive. Tyres from Semperit meet these demands, thus ensuring that drivers north of the Alps also benefit from high safety reserves. For the summer season, the long-established tyre brand has a wide range of products available approved for speeds of up to 270 km/h (168 mph), suitable for rim diameters between 13" and 19". The addition of 14 new tyre sizes has substantially extended the range.

Sporty and attractive - the Direction-Sport

With its silica compound, Semperit's Direction-Sport offers fun at the wheel and safety, thanks to its attractive, directionally-orientated tread pattern. The tyre's very stiff and rugged shoulder lugs ensure good holding in bends, whilst the continuous central rib provides optimum straight-line stability and a swift, harmonious steering response. In the rain four wide circumferential grooves pick up the water, which is rapidly channelled out of the ground contact patch through numerous lateral grooves reaching far into the tread centre. The Semperit Direction-Sport is available in a wide range of sizes, including 19", approved for speeds of up to 270 km/h (168 mph). This makes it the ideal tyre for all those drivers who want to enhance the appearance of their car with attractive tyres, perhaps in conjunction with modern alloy rims.

The Speed-Comfort:

Safe and comfortable

The high driving stability and good handling of the Speed-Comfort are the result of its special tread pattern design, which features sturdy shoulder lugs and raised base sections in the tread centre. Together they provide straight-line stability and good lateral guidance, even when driving at the limit. The numerous gripping edges in the shoulder section mean good grip, even on wet roads, whilst the wide, circumferential grooves and lateral sipes reaching far into the centre of the tyre ensure efficient water dispersion, thereby guarding against the risk of aquaplaning. The exceptionally good absorption properties of the Speed-Comfort mean the tyre adapts well to the spring and suspension characteristics of the vehicle, thereby efficiently absorbing road unevenness or short, wavelike impacts.

Semperit is a tyre brand of Continental AG. The Continental Group is a leading supplier of braking systems, suspension components, vehicle electronics, tyres and technical elastomers. In 2003 the company had around 73,000 staff worldwide and achieved a turnover of 11.5 billion euros.
