Good to know about the EU Tire Label

The EU Tire Label will generally apply to:

• Car and SUV tires
• Van tires
• Truck tires

Reporting requirements:

Tire manufacturer

• Provision of the EU Tire Label values within specific
  product communication materials
• Measurement of all products to set grades for label

Tire dealer

• Provision of the EU Tire Label values on or with the
  invoice
• The EU Tire Label has to be clearly visible within
  the point of sale or actively shown to the consumer

Vehicle manufacturer:

• The EU Tire Label values have to be made available
  at the initial purchase of a tire, only when the consumer
  has the choice of more than one type of tire

The EU Tire Label will NOT apply to:

• Racing tires
• Retreaded tires
• Spare tires
• Vintage car tires
• Non road-legal tires

EU-Commissions:

• Establishment of universal grading values and measurement
  standards
• Detailed information about contents and design of
  the Label

EU member states:

• Each EU member state is to organize monitoring
  and impose penalties in case of non-compliance
