19.08.2008 Nick Sanders - the ultimate motorcycle trip Motorcycle adventurer Nick Sanders set off on his ultimate motorcycle trip this April – on Continental tires. The 49-year-old Briton will not only ride once around the world on his Parallel World expedition. He also plans to explore as much of each continent as possible in every compass direction at the same time. He wants to cover an estimated total of 88,500 km in 49 countries on the 120-day trip – alone. Continental motorcycle tires and British Conti importer Cambrian Tyres will be supporting Sanders. The relevant subsidiary or importer will organize his tire supply on location. Sanders started from his home town of Machynlleth in England in April. The first part of the route leads him through Scandinavia and Europe, across the Middle East and Egypt to South Africa. Sanders will fly to the next part of his route in India, Cambodia, Malaysia and Australia. The longest and last part of the route will take him from South America through Central America and the USA, then on to Canada and Alaska. At present, Sanders is in southern Turkey. Nick Sanders' talent and will, as well as the reliability of his R1 will be put to the test. The ContiRoadAttack he chose will also be subject to a maximal load test. He's planned in 6 - 7 sets of ContiRoadAttack tires on the entire route. "When I drove around the world in 19 days, I got more than 11,000 kilometers out of my rear tires. Not bad for an R1! In my opinion and based on experience, no other tire is better than ContiRoadAttack." While most adventurers choose an established off-road bike, Nick Sanders once again rejected a sure thing and decided to use the Yamaha flag ship: the super sporty YZF-R1. Nick Sanders, the former BBC cameraman, author and philosopher, has already been around the world on a motorcycle six times. In 2005 he was able to post a motorcycle record: a total of 30,400 km around the world in only 19 days and three hours. The ultimate route: 55,000 miles (88,500 km), 45 countries, 120 days!
