In its 14^th edition, Rally dos Sertões,  main off-road event, has crossed during 10 days 5 thousand kilometers of rugged and unpaved roads along six Brazilian states, from the deep country to the coast.

Continental Tires has been present again in the race with the pilot Alexandre Baumgart, who competed in the Heavy Truck category and crossed the end line in fourth place, equipped with MPT 81 Continental tires. “It was a great feat to reach this position. Especially in a race the tires are tested to their limits. During the most difficult parts I was able to testify the surprising performance of MPT 81, with an excellent response and regularity on all terrains, such as paved roads, gravel and sand,” said the pilot. According to him, this capacity of facing adverse conditions has not prevented the tire of showing a high level of comfort while he was driving.

Baumgart remembers with pride a moment on this year's competition. “One of the many challenges we had to face was a steep slope, with a 30 degree approach angle and a 45 degree departure angle. Everybody stopped to see how I climbed up the ramp using the low range gear, acting as a lizard, with the tires firmly attached to he ground,” he concluded.
