02/08/2012 The Italian CSP Prefabbricati SpA praises the reliability of the Continental ContiRT20 Performance industrial tyre in a demanding environment.

ContiRT20 Performance is an industrial radial tyre that has reduced costs significantly for CSP Prefabbricati SpA. The company, based in Bergamo since the 1960’s, manufactures precast concrete and other building products such as concrete columns, girders, facades and structural components. The weight of these products often totals several tons and they are transported over rough ground by their lifts-trucks. At present CSP supplies construction products for major road building and stations in Rome and Milan.

For such applications CSP needs and demands robust tyres, which have to be reliable, capable of taking heavy loads and highly resistant to damage. The Commercial Director, Massimiliano Signorelli, states “Our company has been established for 50 years, during which we have come to value the outstanding quality and reliability of Continental industrial tyres.” He also says that their experience with the ContiRT20 Performance has served to confirm this view. The company praised the ContiRT20 Performance’s long service life and the good traction allowing for fast and reliable order processing as well as outstanding profitability. The exceptional stability during lifting and transport of heavy loads was also underlined by Mr. Signorelli.

The ContiRT20 Performance is a radial tyre for use on fork-lifts and other industrial vehicles. The deep tread pattern provides good traction even on uneven surface s. The specially developed tread compound guarantees maximum resistance to cuts and abrasion. The base of the tread has a flat wide belt and a reinforced steel wire core for optimum strength. The tyre construction also ensures good ride comfort even on unpaved surfaces. Reinforced shoulders make the tyre particularly robust, demonstrating the technological competence and years of experience of Continental industrial tyre engineers.  

ContiRT20 Performance’s high resistance to damage ensures long service life. A Tubeless Sealing Ring (TSR) may also be fitted to protect against sudden loss of air pressure. The TSR allows tubeless industrial tyres to be fitted to standard industrial tyre rims, which normally require a tube and a beaded rim. The TSR consists of a rubber ring with integrated valve and can help avoid expensive downtime, further increasing profitability.
