09/16/2011 Hanover, September 2011. Martin Burdorf took over as head of the Marketing department in the Industrial Tires Business Unit since August 1, 2011. Mr. Burdorf, who holds a degree in Business Administration, has been working at Continental since 1991 and reports to Dr. Michael Märtens. After occupying various sales positions in the Truck Tires business unit, he moved to the Industrial Tires unit in 2003 and, from 2009 onwards, was responsible for the Industrial Tires business in the Americas region, headquartered in Fort Mill, USA.
New to the marketing team is also Ivonne Bierwirth, who is responsible for the newly created Marketing New Media role in the Continental Industrial Tires business unit. Ms. Bierwirth, who has a degree in Economics, will be in charge of developing and implementing new sales and communication platforms, along with other tasks including overseeing the unit’s website. She has been with Continental since 2005 and has held various marketing roles.

Another staff change also took place as of May 1. Heike Hansmann took over as Head of the ContiServiceCenter for Industrial Tires. She is now responsible for customer support in the German market. Ms. Hansmann has been working at Continental since 1987 and has held various customer service roles over the past nine years. In her new role, she reports to Frauke Wieckberg, Head of Marketing & Sales for Industrial Tires in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
