Hanover, May 2011. World record for IC40 Extra Deep: as a part of a massive-scale project, an oil separator weighing more than 15,000 tons was moved using Kamag and Scheuerle modular transporters (SPMTs). Absolute precision work was necessary as a result of the required two-millimetre tolerance limits. Continental Industrial Tires developed a bespoke tire design concept and supplied the necessary 2,160 complete wheels with IC40 pneumatic tires. This special tire stands out thanks to its large tread blocks and a deep tread depth, making it a long-lasting, cost-effective performer.

These robust pneumatic tires from Continental are completely reliable in day-to-day operations, even under extremely heavy bearing loads and the toughest conditions. This is proved in an extensive internal testing last year: in comparison with tires of competitors the IC40 delivered superior results especially in abrasion resistance, which also means higher mileage. Offering exceptional directional and stationary stability, this cross-ply industrial tire has been a fixed size in Continental's industrial tire range and offers effective protection against damage to side walls while ensuring good traction and optimum travel comfort.

Industrial tires featuring an IC40 cross-ply design ensure efficient, economical use of all types of in-plant forklift vehicles.
