• CSEasy Tire-Wheel Adapter wins TecPart Innovation Prize 2010
• Successful development partnership between KTS and Continental

Hanover, November 2010. On October 27, 2010, in conjunction with the K 2010, the International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber, in Düsseldorf, the advocacy group Technische Kunststoff-Produkte e.V. (TecPart) conferred its TecPart Innovation Prize 2010. This year's winners included, among others, KTS Kunststoff Technik Schmölln GmbH in Schmölln, the developer of the adapter for Continental's CSEasy industrial tire.  It ensures lower rolling resistance, longer mileage, improvement in safety, and better environmental compatibility and allows for a wheel change without the need for mounting presses or specialist involvement.

The TecPart price has been a fine tradition since 1974. Frankfurt-based Technische Kunststoff-Produkte e.V. notes in this regard:  "The TecPart prize helps to more strongly anchoring the innovative impact of our branch of industry more strongly in the general consciousness." In coming to its decision, the jury took aspects like material substitution, product and manufacturing innovation and the tool technology area into consideration. Of the more than 50 works submitted, 17 innovations ended up on the shortlist.

KTS had already been honorably cited for the CSEasy adapter system: with the IQ Innovation Prize Central Germany 2008 in silver and the Innovation Prize Thuringia 2008 in gold. It is, moreover, also nominated for the German Design Award 2010. The adapter renders superfluous the mounting presses previously needed for a tire change, thereby greatly reducing forklift downtime and the whole expense for a change. In this way the CSEasy contributes in a big way to upping the practical cost-efficiency of forklifts.
