Hanover, May 2010. Continental Industrial Tyres are the ideal solution when it comes to carrying freight - in addition to very good driving comfort and low rolling resistance, these tyres are approved for relatively high speeds and also offer excellent traction. These characteristics apply particularly to radial tyres and Continental now offers the newest complete range. The recently introduced ContiRV20 Velocity and ContiRT20 Performance are pneumatic radial tyre lines that also provide safe, precise movement when stacking and lifting. Their low total cost of ownership makes these two tyres particularly attractive. ContiRT20 Performance - resilient, high-traction, durable

This pneumatic radial tyre can handle the heaviest of loads reliably at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph). Thanks to its high-traction tread pattern, the tyre performs on surfaced and unsurfaced ground. The RT20 is particularly well-suited for forklifts and other industrial trucks used in heavy engineering and the building supplies industry, but it also performs well in the field of materials handling, where it exhibits extreme durability, excellent comfort and high traction. The requirements specified for the development of the new Conti RT20 Performance were extremely high. The criteria the tyre had to meet were in various criteria much tougher than those set for its predecessor. The developers succeeded in increasing life expectancy by up to 30%, whilst keeping approximately the same tread depth and similar dimensions. One glance at the tread pattern design of the ContiRT20 Performance reveals the tyre's good traction characteristics. The highest demands were met in terms of even wear and suspension characteristics, without compromising on features such as tilting stability or prevention of stone trapping. Knowing well the enormous strain to which it would later be subjected in its fields of application - transporting loads both in- and outdoors in the wood, steel and cement industry, in shipyards, logistics centres, air- and seaports - the engineers focused on the customer application when developing the tyre. The characteristics of the ContiRT20 Performance meet all customer requirements. The tread depth was increased to the maximum to guarantee the longest possible service life, even under the most arduous conditions. The tread pattern with its wide grooves provides consistently reliable traction, even on unsurfaced or bumpy ground. The tyre is designed to ensure extra low rolling resistance and thus low energy consumption, without however neglecting the aspect of driving comfort. The ContiRT20 Performance is available in the following sizes: Normal aspect ratio: 6.00 R 9 121 A5 TL 6.50 R 10 128 A5 TL 7.00 R 12 136 A5 TL 8.25 R 15 153 A5 TL 10.00 R 20 166 A5 TL 12.00 R 20 176 A5 TL Low aspect ratio: 180/70 R 8 125 A5 TL 225/75 R 10 142 A5 TL 250/75 R 12 152 A5 TL 225/75 R 15 149 A5 TL 250/70 R 15 153 A5 TL 315/70 R 15 165 A5 TL 355/65 R 15 175 A5 TL
ContiRV20 Velocity - fast, durable, comfortable

It was developed specifically for tractors, airport apron vehicles and tractors used in production by industrial companies and is the ideal solution for these highly manoeuvrable vehicles. One of the benefits of the radial design is the very good suspension comfort the tyre provides, which is as important for the driver's well-being as it is for protecting the goods being carried. As with other Continental industrial tyres, customers can rely on the quality of the ContiRV20 Velocity, because Continental's production facilities worldwide are certified to EN ISO 9001. Cotninental also takes its environmental responsibilities seriously - the tyres contain neither nitrosamines nor polycyclic hydrocarbons, and they are produced in factories which are also certified according to ISO 14001. The low wear and low rolling resistance of Continental tyres also means resources are conserved, thereby reducing impact on the environment. The ContiRV20 Velocity produces substantially fewer driving noises and vibrations than conventional tyres, thanks to its optimised grooved tread pattern. The extensive surface area also ensures maximum contact with the ground and this translates into good grip and traction even on wet surfaces. The short braking distances achieved as a result mean that vehicles fitted with the ContiRV20 Velocity enjoy a high degree of safety. The tyre offers advantages in terms of environment protection and operating costs, too. "As a pneumatic radial tyre, the service life of the ContiRV20 is up to 200% longer than that of a pneumatic crossply" explained Nils Barthold, Product Manager at Continental Industrial Tyres. The tyre's low rolling resistance is a further benefit that derives partly from its radial design and partly from the exceptionally low-rolling-resistance rubber compound. As this rolling resistance is approximately 30% below that of a same-size crossply tyre, this means lower energy consumption, which is good for the environment. The ContiRV20 Velocity is available in the following sizes: 180/70 R 8 125 A5 TL 6.00 R 9 121 A5 TL 6.50 R 10 128 A5 TL
225/75 R 10 142 A5 TL 7.00 R 12 136 A5 TL 165 R 13 102 A6 TL 7.00 R 15 143 A5 TL 7.50 R 15 146 A5 TL 8.25 R 15 153 A5 TL
The ContiRV20 is also available and like its predecessor CONRAD this tyre has a particularly deep tread: 250/70 R 15 153 A5 TL 315/70 R 15 165 A5 TL 12.00 R 20 176 A5 TL
Other pneumatic radial tyres available from Continental: IC70 - sizes 5.00 R 8, 125/75 R 8 and 150/75 R 8 ConRad HT1 - sizes 8.25 R 15 and 12.00 R 20 |
