New European sales strategy for Simex industrial tires

01/01/2010 Since January 1, the Simex brand's industrial tires have been sold through the Continental Industrial Tires sales organization. In the past, Simex tires were almost exclusively marketed through the various national importers in Europe. "We can see some good sales opportunities for the Simex brand," said a confident Julian Alexander, Head of Sales Industrial Tires Europe. "Channeling sales through our own organization is sure to generate new impetus." The quality of the Simex tires from Malaysia is documented by a strong presence in the OE sector and they are the leading imported tires in the Chinese port business. With the company's own sales organization now providing intensive customer support, the sales team are targeting strong growth in countries with major ports, such as Germany, Benelux, Poland, Italy, and Spain. "For products like industrial tires, where the customer needs a lot of advice, direct contact to end-users is important," said Hubert Jahnel, Head of Sales DACH Industrial Tires, explaining the new strategy. "Although of course the Continental sales organization will be processing all sales through specialist tire dealerships." The lion's share of Simex tires are destined for port vehicles that operate at ship-road-rail transshipment terminals. Between 10 and 20 percent are fitted to earth-moving equipment. |
