PALL-EX GOES CONTINENTAL WITH THE CSEASY

09/09/2009 One of the UK’s leading logistics providers, Pall-Ex, has switched its forklift truck fleet to Continental’s revolutionary CSEasy tyre. The company are reporting huge benefits in terms of damage resistance, tyre life and fuel economy.

At Pall-Ex’s headquarters in Ellistown in Leicestershire, the company operates 36 fork lift trucks running on a 24 hour shift operation. The site is a tough application for fork lift trucks and putting great demands on the tyres in particular. Barloworld Handling in partnership with Continental Tyres introduced the new, award winning CSEasy to the site and the results have shown a number of key benefits for Pall-Ex.

Tony Mellor, commercial director, said; ”Both tyre punctures and truck downtime were a real concern for us at Pall-Ex. The CSEasy tyre can be mounted and demounted without the use of a press, safely in the on-site Barloworld workshop. This saves us costly downtime and the need for expensive equipment. It also means that we are able to change tyres 24/7 keeping our operation moving round the clock.

“The CSEasy has been returning a performance up to three times the life of a standard solid tyre. The CSEasy is tough and durable to stand up to the toughest of our site conditions. We are really pleased that Barloworld Handling has introduced us to the CSEasy. We have made significant savings as a result.”

The CSEasy provides a safe and economical solution to fork lift truck tyre maintenance with its unique mounting system. Using CSEasy, Pall-Ex have reduced their whole life costs and increased their tyre life. Other key performance benefits for Pall-Ex are the minimal vehicle downtime during tyre changes and improved fuel consumption. The CSEasy is a perfect fit for companies looking to save on tyre bills whilst not compromising on tyre safety.

The CSEasy was developed with safety in mind not just in the mounting and demounting process but in the running of the tyre on the truck.  The CSEasy’s fitting solution means low deflection of the sidewall giving the tyre increased tilt stability. Users benefit from greater safety when handling larger loads or working at greater heights. A forklift truck needs to respond to a driver’s instruction so the CSEasy has a low cross section giving it a faster and more precise steering response.

The CSEasy is part of the Continental Super-Elastic (CSE) tyres range. The solid-rubber design of these tyres makes them an ideal choice for extremely gruelling applications. They offer exceptional stationary stability, puncture protection and are virtually breakdown-proof and maintenance-free.
