The SC15 convinces Magna Steyr

02/20/2009 Hanover, August 2008. Continental industrial tires demonstrate their efficiency and high quality in many places and under a variety of application conditions. One of these locations is Magna Steyr, the automotive manufacturer in Graz, Austria.

Magna Steyr is highly flexible in its development and production capabilities, offering car makers a wide range of services from the manufacture of components to the assembly of entire vehicles. Customers include prestigious names like Saab, Jeep, Daimler, Chrysler and BMW. A smooth running production process is vital so materials handling is a crucial part of their business.

Magna Steyr has worked with Continental Industrial Tires for almost ten years now. The 280 front forklifts in use at the company run on light-coloured industrial floors at speeds of up to 20 km/h (12.5 mph). They have to stack loads up to 4 metres high and carry weights of up to 5 tons. Wilhelm Pfander, head of the forklift workshop, expressed his satisfaction with the Conti products: "What we particularly appreciate is the outstanding, consistent quality, as well as the high mileage performance of the SC15 Clean."


He has tested almost all tires on the market, but remains convinced of the low downtimes and the high mileage performance of Continental's SC15 industrial tire. The forklift expert discovered the latest addition to the range, the new SC20, which replaces the SC15, whilst at a promotional tour carried out by Continental's sales force and he is now fully convinced of the tire.
