Football has not just been an attractive environment for Continental since the signing of the FIFA partnership contract for the 2006 FIFA World Cup^TM. Between 1995 and 2000, Continental had already worked as a partner of UEFA Champions League and this experience was thoroughly positive. It succeeded in significantly increasing awareness of the Continental premium tyre brand in major European countries/markets.

After this successful activation we have decided to reduce our investmentss into team ssponsoring in order to focus our resources clearly on the activation of our sponsoring from UEFA EURO 2008^TM. The reason is that we don`t have three and a half-year time but "only" two years. Of course we will visit several games of the teams we have supported in the past to gether with business partners and journalists also in the future - but advertising in the staadia will be the exception.
