"What makes this co-operation particularly interesting for Continental is that Shell is a premium supplier in the petroleum business and a market leader in Europe, and Shell CLUBSMART currently has around four million members in Germany alone, a large number of whom are vehicle owners - the target group we are addressing" explains Continental's FIFA project head Raf Claes. This joint promotion has already been announced in the current issue of the bi-annual Shell CLUBSMART catalogue of rewards. Detailed information about this promotion, which is also open to Continental employees, will be available from September 1st, 2005 at www.shellsmart.com.

Continental will be using its available tickets both for end user and business customer promotions. During the IAA 2005 in Frankfurt, for example, Continental will be holding a prize draw for exhibition visitors every day at 3 p.m. at the corporate exhibition stand A 16 in Hall 5.1, giving participants the chance to win two tickets for a "Final Sixteen" match at the 2006 FIFA World CupTM. Brand ambassador and national goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand from VfB Stuttgart will be encouraging visitors to try their luck, supported in his efforts by several professional footballers from Hannover 96 and Eintracht Frankfurt, two First Division teams sponsored by Continental. The players will also be participating in an expert discussion panel, followed by an autograph session.

Further promotional campaigns involving tickets for the 2006 FIFA World CupTM will follow. Continental's football/tyre website www.ContiSoccerWorld.com gives extensive information about all the company's activities in the field of football - and of course about the competitions where tickets can be won.

The Continental Corporation is a leading supplier of brake systems, chassis components, vehicle electronics, tyres and technical elastomers. In 2004 the corporation realised sales of EUR12.6 billion. At present it has a worldwide workforce of more than 81,000.

The tyre business unit is an Official Partner of the 2006 FIFA World Cup GermanyTM.For further information visit the websites www.conti-online.com, www.ContiSoccerWorld.com and www.contifanworld.com.
