FIFA partner goes for international TV presence during the Qualifiers for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™

Hanover, July 2004 - After the worldwide launch of its TV commercial featuring brand ambassador Timo Hildebrand in March this year, international automotive supplier Continental will continue to focus its communication activities on football, the world's most attention-grabbing sport, in order to promote its premium brand Continental tyres. Fifty-one European national teams will be among the competitors in over 270 qualifying matches to participate in the 2006 FIFA World Cup GermanyTM. As a new partner for the "Qualifiers 2006" Continental is now relying on the full service sponsorship package developed by Sportfive, which will ensure the company TV coverage throughout the whole of Europe in the 170 Qualifiers.

The exclusive product "Qualifiers 2006" consolidates the marketing rights of numerous European football associations under one umbrella brand. "This comprehensive sponsorship package is the ideal complement to our commitment as an Official Partner of the 2006 FIFA World Cup GermanyTM. The worldwide TV broadcasts ensure Continental wide international coverage during the 15 month period. The classic pitch-side marketing package will be linked to wide-ranging advertising activities. Rounding off the package is footage from the best current matches and goals, which the Hanover-based company can use not only on its website ContiFanWorld, but also at exhibitions and dealer promotion events.

Since its launch, which was timed to coincide with the official draw of the preliminary qualifying groups for the 2006 FIFA World Cup GermanyTMin Frankfurt in early December 2003, Continental's website www.ContiFanWorld.com has enjoyed increasing international popularity. Although the ContiFanWorld site was originally available in just German and English, a further four languages - French, Spanish, Dutch and Italian - have now been added. Football enthusiasts are invited to participate in training sessions for the 2006 FIFA World Cup GermanyTM. The training sessions featured in the ContiSoccerCamp change every second month and the best online footballers can win a variety of prizes. Header training, the fifth training session, is currently running.
