A person must, however, be present at the drawing to win. The initial drawing is on March 6, when the show is open to the trade public only. Here you can dowload the press release (64 KB). The Geneva Motor Show is Europe's second largest car and accessories event. In 2007 it attracted around 700,000 visitors. On the official opening show days, March 6 to 16, attendance is expected to be high again this year. "Many of the visitors are interested not only in the new vehicles and accessories but also the Swiss sports event set to begin on June 7, 2008 – the UEFA EURO 2008™," notes press spokesman Alexander Lührs from Continental. "As was the case last year, we are catering to this interest by each day raffling off two tickets for a preliminary round match and two other prizes." Continental anticipates strong demand for tickets to Europe’s most important soccer tournament, approximating the keen interest displayed for tickets to the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™. Tickets to the latter could be obtained only at the official FIFA website. 1st prize > two tickets to a UEFA EURO 2008™ group phase match 2nd prize > two foldable football goals in a tote bag 3rd prize > a leather football. Lührs expects a good turnout for the daily drawings. The winners are handed the prizes, or a voucher for two tickets, at the booth immediately after the drawing. The tickets themselves can then be picked up on the day before or the day of the match in June 2008 at a designated meeting point in the town where the respective match is being played. The winner must present the voucher and an appropriate ID to claim the tickets. The million or so admission tickets officially went on sale at www.euro2008.com on March 1, 2007. At www.ContiSoccerWorld.de Continental provides comprehensive information on its own football activities – including the winners of previous tournaments – as well as on the teams and stars in the UEFA EURO 2008™ qualification rounds, on UEFA EURO 2008™ itself, and, of course, on all ticket contests. The Passenger and Light Truck Tires (PLT) division of Continental will be introducing a global novelty in Geneva – the new ContiWinterContact TS 830 – as well as the self-sealing tire with ContiSeal technology developed exclusively for Volkswagen. With annual sales of more than €25 billion (based on 2006 figures), the Continental Corporation is one of the top five automotive suppliers worldwide. As a supplier of brake systems, powertrain and chassis systems and components, instrumentation, infotainment solutions, vehicle electronics, tires and technical elastomers, the corporation contributes to enhanced driving safety and global climate protection.
