IAA Passenger Cars is the biggest trade show for cars and accessories in Europe. It is held every two years, alternating with the IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover. In 2005, it attracted 900,000 visitors, and attendance is expected to be high again this year, particularly on the official show days. "Besides new vehicles and accessories, many of those coming to the show are also excited already about the sporting event of 2008: UEFA EURO 2008TM,” said Continental press spokesman Alexander Lührs. "We are catering to this interest by drawing winners of two pairs of tickets for a group phase match each day, along with two other prizes." Continental anticipates strong demand for tickets to Europe’s most important soccer tournament, similar to the keen interest displayed for tickets to the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™, which could only be obtained via the official FIFA website. |

Lührs expects a good turnout for the daily drawings. The prizes, or a voucher for two tickets, will be awarded to the winners at the stand immediately after the drawing. The actual tickets will then be handed out the day before or on the day of the match in June 2008, at a designated meeting point where the match is being held. The winner must present the voucher and an appropriate ID to claim the tickets. The official sale of the million or so tickets began on March 1, 2007 at www.euro2008.com. |
