This tire can be had with either 120 or 240 studs. TourRide from Continental TourRide meets all cycling requirements in city traffic and when touring. Thanks to its high-grip, open tread profile, this tire from Continental delivers good adhesion on tarmac surfaces as well as on forest paths. Three fabric plies beneath the tread yield su-perb protection against stone penetration. TourRide is designed as an allround tire and is suitable for use on all types of bicycle – from robust trekking bikes through to full-suspension city bikes. Germany's leading tire manufacturer offers all TourRide versions with reflecting stripes on their sturdy sidewalls as a sensible safety feature. NordicSpike – the winter tire for trekking bikes The NordicSpike was developed especially for use on trekking bikes. Its endless-edge block design with varied orientation en-sures high steering precision, insensitivity to track grooves and excellent traction when braking and starting off on different ground surfaces. Extra traction when riding on snow-covered or icy stretches is provided by studs in the tread blocks - NordicSpike is the first bike tire truly suitable for winter service. Extra grip in wintry con-ditions is given by the special tread compound designed to main-tain high flexibility even at low temperatures. Continental offers the NordicSpike tire with 120 or 240 studs. In tough applications its high-grade, extremely hard-wearing cas-ing delivers a long service life and good riding characteristics. So the NordicSpike is the ideal tire for bikers wanting to use their touring bicycles in winter as well. SpikeClaw With SpikeClaw, Continental is including in its range its first genuine winter tire for mountain bikes and other bikes having the appropriate rim size. Up to 240 studs ensure optimum grip on snow-covered and icy surfaces, while on loose snow the open tread offers high grip and good self-cleaning properties. Corner-ing in wintry conditions is no trouble either with SpikeClaw since the elaborate shoulder design provides extra grip even when leaning over. In addition to its snow and ice properties, tire engineers at Continental have also given the SpikeClaw a special tread compound for maximum performance on wet and dry surfaces. Low rolling resistance and comfortable riding characteristics are yielded by the three-ply casing's skinwall technology.
