High-end technology for an improved overview

The head-up display projects a virtual image onto the windshield. This is generated by an LCD-TFT display backlit by a strong illuminant (LEDs). With the help of mirrors, the rays lighting up the display are diverted to the windshield.

The free-formed, aspheric mirrors compensate for the distortions caused by the shape of the windshield and enlarge the image.

The space between the display and the windshield (measured including the distance across the mirrors) determines how far ahead of the driver the virtual image appears to be.

An adjustable mirror optimally adapts the head-up display to the driver’s respective body height.
