Demands for the Transportation Branch of the Future

What will the world of transportation look like in the year 2030? What kind of trends can be recognized? And what kind of strategy is necessary to master the transportation of the future?

Already today we are showing solution expertise with our products for the problems of the transportation branch of tomorrow. But we are one step ahead: based on trend analysis, we have examined what kind of challenges will be awaiting the transportation branch within the next 20 years. In doing so, we didn’t just focus on commercial vehicle markets, but also took other transportation modes such as rail, water and air into consideration. The regionally split scenarios show the model for resolution for the tasks of the transportation world of the future.

  • The freight volume will increase more than the freight weight.
  • The Total Cost of Ownership will increase - especially the cost of fuel and toll.
  • The stock of commercial vehicles will increase.
  • The average age of a truck driver will increase in Europe and in the USA.
