Racing kart tires made in Korbach are mainly characterized by their special tread - a fine combination of an ultra-short warm-up time and an ultra-long service life. These characteristics normally present incompatible design objectives. However, new high-tech compounds now make it possible to combine them. Continental´s tire engineers have achieved maximum grip in all driving situations by using a larger contact patch. The new casing structure with high-grade polyester fabrics delivers more stability and hence better transmission of engine power to the track. Continental tires for hired and hobby karts feature a tread compound specially tailored to the target group. This compound warms up quickly to its operating temperature and lasts longer, providing good grip in all driving situations. Handling of the tires is also beautifully convenient. They are mounted quickly and easily thanks to their highly flexible beads. On top of that, they are also good value for money. There are two special "Sport/CBS Compounds" available for ambitious hobby racers that deliver very good adhesion and service life (e.g. in kart slalom racing or on a circuit). This new development offers all the benefits of a modern racing/hired kart tire (long service life plus sporty handling performance). The "Longlife" compound lasts about one-and-a-half times as long as the "Sport". In view of its race-type casing, the new "Conti Race Contact CBZ" version provides even more karting fun, even when taking the tire to its limits. Tire life is many times higher tha that of the less expensive "Longlife" version. Asymmetrical, directional "Intermediate" tires may - depending on the weather conditions - also be driven as rain tires after a so-called "change on the rim". Product advantages become particularly apparent during daily events like kart slalom or endurance racing. Intermediates can be used on all surfaces at indoor and outdoor tracks, for hired kart operations or in long-distance racing. Overview of Continental’s range of kart tires Tires for hired karts
