09/12/2004 Vanco Tires From Continental Frankfurt/Hanover, September 2005. With its new VancoContact 2, Continental has modernized its product range for vans and transport vehicles with similar performance to cars. The new tire, which has been in production since the spring, incorporates improvements to handling, water dispersion and mileage performance. Safe on the roads with the new VancoContact 2 The VancoContact 2 tire was developed for comfortable, small transport vehicles based on passenger car designs. The key advantages of this tire are not only noticeable on long journeys: Thanks to the exceptionally rigid construction of the tire's outer shoulder, the VancoContact 2 offers excellent handling, three deep tread grooves absorb water quickly and the very flat tire contour provides high mileage performance and short braking distances. The tire engineers at Continental achieved good handling and short braking distances on wet roads by incorporating sipes on the outer tread blocks. These sipes work like a windshield wiper that separates the water film while maintaining adhesion. Two stiff tread ribs in the center of the tread offer the added benefit of increased mileage performance and precise transferal of steering commands. The new VancoContact 2 is available from tire dealers. |

Vanco – the tire for heavy vans, mobile homes and transport vehicles The high-mileage Vanco has proven its worth in the medium and heavy weight categories for vans, mobile homes and transport vehicles. Due to the round contour of its contact patch, this tire delivers outstanding wet grip as well as good water dispersion for optimum aquaplaning resistance. When designing the Vanco, Continental's tire specialists engineered its tread blocks to achieve a low noise level. The blocks hit the road at a slanted angle, reducing tire/road noise and therefore making the ride more comfortable for the vehicle's occupants. A solid scuff rib protects the tire's sidewalls from being damaged by the curbstones when vans are making deliveries in the city. For transport vehicles and mobile homes with a higher payload, the Vanco is also sold in 10-PR versions. Here you can download or order the picture from the Vanco ... |

VancoWinterContact and VancoWinter: Safe in the cold and wet, safe on snow and ice Continental offers two different winter tire models for vans and transport vehicles: The VancoWinterContact was designed for vehicles based on passenger car concepts. It is mainly notable for its ultra-high traction on cold and wet roads, as well as on snow and ice. At the same time it delivers the same standard of comfort and handling performance as winter tires for passenger cars. Continental has included the VancoWinter in its range to cater for heavier transport vehicles. This tire combines superb traction and reliable braking properties on snow and ice with good resistance to aquaplaning. The VancoWinter has been given a thick scuff rib to protect its sidewalls in case it comes into contact with the curbstone. The VancoFourSeason: High-traction tire for heavy mobile homes and transport vehicles Mobile homes offer a high level of comfort, good handling convenience and flexibility on vacation and weekend trips. The market trend is increasingly towards higher engine capacities and more comfortable interiors. This demands new solutions for the choice of tires, as both the speeds of the mobile homes and their weight are on the increase. Continental therefore offers a version of its VancoFourSeason tire in the 10-PR category, which, depending on the size, can carry loads of up to 1.45 tons. Approved for speeds up to 170 km/h, the VancoFourSeason is suitable as a high-traction tire for the driven axle or as an all-round tire for all-season applications.
