09/12/2005 ContiComfortKit Ensures Mobility

Frankfurt/Hanover, September 2005.  The ContiComfortKit (CCK) sealant system provides rapid assistance in case of a puncture. Connected to the cigarette lighter socket inside the car, a compressor quickly pumps a sealant into the tire. A pressure gauge is used to set the correct tire pressure and the driver can continue the journey. The time required is significantly less than fitting a spare wheel, while the kit also saves on space and weight. Various vehicle manufacturers supply the ContiComfortKit as original equipment and it is also available from specialist tire outlets. The magazine AutoBild recently tested the kit and awarded it an "Exemplary" rating (Issue 24/05).

The CCK removes the need to change the tire after a puncture. Mobility is restored after just a short time and the journey can continue for up to 200 kilometers at a maximum speed of 80 km/h. For punctures on the freeway, in construction work or in tunnels, speedy resolution of the problem is a major benefit in terms of safety.

The CCK is around the same size as a sheet of A4 paper and is ten centimeters high. It weighs around 2 kilograms. As a result, it saves 50 liters of space and an average of 18 kilograms of weight in the trunk, as there is no need to carry a spare wheel.

 The ContiComfortKit can be purchased from specialist tire outlets or on the Internet at www.conticomfortkit-shop.de . The manufacturers who use the CCK as original equipment include Ford, Volvo and Aston Martin. In a test of different sealing systems by the editors of AutoBild magazine, the ContiComfortKit was rated as "Exemplary" and was named the overall winner of the test (AutoBild 24/05).
