On 13 October 2008 - the 2. European Road Safety Day - our ContiWinterRoadshow 2008 took place on our proving ground Contidrom in the north of Hanover. The topics have mainly been focussed on safety.

Continental`s strategy for the European Passenger & Light Truck Tire business as well as the discussion about the statutory European tire label guidelines which are in discussion since october 2007, considering rolling resistance and wet grip, are aiming to support the idea of improving the road safety across Europa. Beside the introduction of the new winter tire ContiWinterContact TS 830 together with DEKRA Continental has picked up the topics of accident analysis and accident consequences for the drivers of passenger cars regarding bad tires. It was demonstrated with several crash tests how dangerouos Asian low cost  import winter tires are.
