The “Nürnberger Schraubenfabrik” (NSF, Nuernberg Screw Factory) was founded in Nuernberg. The traditions of one of today’s most innovative suppliers of cutting-edge automotive electronics go back to the end of the 19th century.

1923
NSF starts development and production of radio components.

NSF acquired by AEG.

1945
Largely destroyed during the 2nd World War.

1946
Production of resistors, variable capacitors and electrolytic capacitors resumes.

1958
Production of the first mass-produced European UHF tuner with frame grid valves starts up.


1959
Additional development and production capacity required for the rapidly growing radio engineering business unit; production of resistors and capacitors relocated to an additional plant set up in Ingolstadt.

1980
Start of development and manufacture of electronic components for motor vehicles - including digital idling speed stabilization and fuel pump relays. As a result, the focus of development and production moves increasingly towards automotive electronics.

Development and design of an electronic control unit for Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS). First collaboration with the specialist brake company, Teves, now also part of Continental Automotive Systems.
