In its issue 04/2008, ACE (Auto Club Europe) and GTÜ (Gesellschaft für technische Überwachung - Association of technical inspection) tested various summer tyres of the dimension: 175/65 R 14 T.

The Brillantis received the rating: "Testwinner".

Verdict: "Due to the weighting (30 points wet, 20 points rolling resistance, 10 points price), we have two winners in the small size: the lower priced Barum Brillantis and the new Pirelli P4 Cinturato."

Of the ten tyres tested, two were rated "very good", five "good", one "satisfactory" and two "adequate".

The Brillantis was given the overall rating "good".
