Barum summer tyres fit virtually all cars

Hanover, spring 2005. With the Bravuris and Brillantis, Barum has two safe, low-cost summer tyres available for compact, medium range and luxury cars.  High mileage performance and safe driving characteristics are the special features of these tyres, which have been approved for speeds of up to 270 km/h (168 mph). The Barum Vanisis available for use on vans, combining safe driving characteristics with high economy. For summer 2005, Barum has added 21 new sizes to its range, with tyres suitable for 13-18" rims.

The Barum Bravuris - a quality H-, V- and Z-rated tyre

High mileage performance and safe driving characteristics are the main features of the Barum Bravuris. This tyre, which is available in two different directionally-orientated tread pattern options, covers almost all the tyre sizes currently on the market - right up to the size 265/35 ZR 18. Lateral guidance, braking distances and characteristics in the wet all meet today's tyre technology standards, making this tyre the ideal solution for drivers of powerful vehicles wishing to fit high quality tyres at attractive prices.

The Barum Brillantis - an economical tyre for compact cars

Economy in the tyre sector can mean either high mileage performance or low cost. The Brillantis from Barum meets both requirements, thereby satisfying the expectations of motorists who are not tied to one of the top brand names. Good characteristics in the wet and short braking distances are added benefits. This summer tyre, approved for speeds up to 190 km/h (118 mph), is particularly suitable as a fitment on small and compact cars, but is also an economical choice for lower medium range vehicles. Barum is planning to add new tyre sizes this season to cater for the VW Polo, Skoda Fabia and Renault Kangoo among others.

The Barum Vanis - high mileage performance and short braking distances

The Barum Vanis combines safety and high mileage, as its flat, wide belt contour gives it a large ground contact patch. This provides benefits in terms of mileage and braking performance. A scuff rib on the tyre sidewall protects it when it comes into contact with kerbstones, thereby preventing tyre failure caused by chafing. The interlocking design of the Vanis combines the benefits of both ribbed and blocked tread patterns - solid tread ribs provide good traction and handling performance, with positive braking on dry roads, whilst the tread blocks ensure good driving characteristics in the wet. The combination of these two tread elements with sipes in the individual tread blocks to break up the film of water on the road surface, means safe driving characteristics, even in the wet. The Vanis size range will also be  extended for the 2005 summer season.
